Free at Last: HTC EVO 3D Bootloader Now Unlockable

HTC has (literally) green-lit the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint to have its bootloader unlocked, changing its status on the HTCDev site to match that of the Euro HTC Sensation (which saw its bootloader open to unlocking last week). The news ends a long period of back and forth between Android developers and HTC as the former pushed for the latter to loosen the reigns on their software, allowing for easier manipulation and modding. T-Mobile G-Slate 3.1 Update Brings Locked Bootloader

If you’re a T-Mobile G-Slate owner and you fancy yourself an Android modder, you may want to wait before updating your device to the official 3.1 update rolling out right now. I’ve stumbled upon some information that the update will, in fact, lock the bootloader making the flashing of custom ROMs and all the other goodies that come with it, impossible. At least for now.
Up until this update, the LG G-Slate was one of the more developer friendly tablets with fastboot OEM unlock and the Nvidia APX allowing full read/write access to the device. Anyone thinking of skipping the official update altogether only to remain at the mercy of the Android developer community? (They have cake)
