Microsoft Lync Coming To Android

Coming to us from TechED in New Zealand, Microsoft is showing off a Lync client for mobile. If you are unfamiliar, Lync is a powerful unified communications system utilized by many businesses. It’s somewhat like an overpowered Windows Live Messenger, but again, intended for business.  The surprising news here is that Microsoft is making their client available to more than just Windows Phone 7. Android, iOS, & Symbian will be able to utilize it. Obviously, Microsoft is making a play for the enterprise and by making it available on the major mobile OS’s, they are trying to fend off potential threats from services like Google voice, Google Talk, & iMessage.

Nexus Prime Coming to Verizon?

There is no question that the Nexus Prime on Verizon would be AWESOME! There hasn’t been anything close to solid to suggest the Nexus will bless us with its presence on Verizon, but there has been some rumors to share.
It’s been tipped that a “Samsung Prime” device has been seen in the halls at Verizon. This device was also said to be shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich and rocking a 720p display. A separate source says Samsung is preparing to launch a device with a 720p display that’s size will be the largest on the market. This seems to tie in well with reports that Samsung is working on a 4.65-inch ICS phone though the Prime has been rumored at 4.5-inches.
It seems to make sense to me that Verizon should be the one to wield the wonder of the next Nexus device if they’ll allow its openness. As with all rumors, no one really knows for sure at this point. Maybe if we all band together and wish hard enough we’ll see  a 4G LTE, 720p, ICS Nexus on Verizon in October.
I’ll tell you what. If we get SOLID evidence of the Nexus Prime coming to Verizon, on that same day I will video myself smashing my Droid X in the parking lot and post it right here. What do you think about that? Will you join me?

Twitter Web Finally Introduces Native Photo Sharing – Coming Soon To Mobile Apps

If there has been once glaring omission to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, it has always been the absence of native photo uploading. This is where hundreds of 3rd party photo uploading sites jumped in to pick up the slack, allowing users to share food pics quickly and easily. Well, after 5 years Twitter web has finally made available native photo uploading.
Jumping onto Twitter.com you’ll notice a handy little camera icon when you go to compose a tweet. Pics are limited to 3MB file sizes and if you uploaded the wrong pic (I’m looking at you, Hailey Williams) you can simply delete a mischosen pic by clicking the little “x” next to it. All your uploaded photos are currently being hosted by Photobucket (remember them?) and will appear as a pic.twitter link next to your tweet.
In typical Twitter fashion, uploaded pics will be made public and for the Twitter elite made searchable using hashtags included in your tweets. If this makes you nervous, don’t worry. Users who have their accounts protected will also have their uploaded pics protected as well.
But what good are all these pics if they’re lost in the Twitter abyss? Well, Twitter plans on launching user Galleries in the near future that will attach all of your uploaded pics to your profile and even aggregate them from other photo uploading services like Yfrog and Twitpic. This will borderline turn Twitter into a full-blown social networking site and prove some stiff competition for sites like Google+ and Facebook.
Twitter will soon extend this native photo uploading functionality to their mobile apps as well, so be on the look out for that. Of course, as soon as they do, we will let you guys know. Happy tweeting! Oh- and feel
